The Call For More Godly Women...

I am reading a great and very challenging book called, "So Much More" by Anna Sofia and Elizabeth Botkin. Christian teen age sisters who have a passion for godly, biblcal womanhood. In so much more they focus on the extreme importance of close, submissive relationships with daughters and their fathers. It has been a great reminder and challenge for me as I strive to be a godly, daughter and young woman of God. Last night I was reading about what is the definition of a godly woman. Anna Sofia and Elizabeth used a quote from former U.S. Senate Chaplain Peter Marshall.

"Godly womanhood...the very phrase sounds strange in our ears. We never hear it now. We hear about every other tye of women: beautiful women, smart women, sophisticated women, career women, talented women, divorced women. But so seldom do we hear of a godly woman- or of a godly man either, for that matter. We believe women come nearer to fulfilling their God-given function in the home than anywhere else. It is a much nobler thing to be a good wife, that to be Miss America. It is a greater achievement to establish a Christian home than is to produce a second-rate novel will of filth. It is a far far better thing in the realms of morals to be old-fashioned, than to be ultra-modern. The world has enough women who know how to be smart. It needs women who are willing to be simple. The world has enough women who know how to be brilliant. It needs some who will be brave. The world has enough women who are popular. It needs more who are pure. We need women and men, too, who would rather be morally right than socially correct."

The interesting thing is that quote is from the 1940s. If Mr. Marshall felt the need for more godly women and men think of how the need for that is even more urgent!

Wow wow wow!

That guy's right, we need to wake up!
I really hate the pressure that society puts on us. With me going to college next year, I've heard many things about how I should do something that can make more money! And while money is a good thing to have, ( I mean after all you have to have money to give right?) it's not the most important thing!
That is one of many reasons why I resolve to be the best wife and mom I can be! NOT the best career woman! :)

Love ya girl! Thanks for posting!
